No no-hitters this season, first time in 20 years.

Release time: 2025-09-29 PE Score

The 2025 Major League Baseball regular season ended today without a no-hitter, either by a single pitcher or a relay no-hitter. It's the first time in 20 years since 2005 and the fifth time since 1961 that the number has increased to 162 games. And all but two of the six years from 2019 through 2024 have seen at least four no-hitters, including as many as nine in 2021, during the 2020 epidemic season. The closest this season was Yukin Yamamoto's 8.2-inning no-hitter against the Orioles and the Dodger pitching staff's relay no-hitter into the ninth inning that ended with Tanner Scott getting broken up.
