Recently, NBA analyst Tim Legler said in a podcast that he doesn't think the Rockets need to sign another full-time point guard to replace the injured VanVleet.

Tim Legler said: "The Rockets really need a full-time point guard like VanVleet? I've watched teams like Celtic, and Jrue Holiday and Derrick White are not point guards in the traditional sense, and most of their offensive starts, even if it's a one-two or a cover, originate with Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, who are the front line."

"Jrue Holiday is closer to a weakside cutter type of low post singles guard, and Derrick White is a very good spot-up shooter who can also serve as a shooter who utilizes coverages to hold the ball and shoot threes. But at the end of the day, it's the dual scouts that get the offense started."

"Going back to the Rockets, they have Sengun and Kevin Durant on offense and Amen Thompson, and I think that's enough."
