VanVleet suffered an unfortunate torn ACL during Rockets preseason training camp and could miss the entire 25/26 season, according to sources at Shams.

VanVleet signed a new two-year, $50 million contract with the Rockets in June, with a player option for the 26/27 season.

In the regular season last season, Van Vliet averaged 14.1 points per game, helping the Rockets to 52 wins in the second place in the West, and rose to 18.7 points per game in the playoffs.

With the folding of VanVleet, the Rockets' current point guard duties will reportedly go to Shepherd, Aaron Holliday, and Amen Thompson.
