According to BasketNews, Alphabet reached out to Shinkyo, capping off a feud between the two that gradually escalated into an international dispute.

The series of events began when Shin Kyung said after the win over Greece that Alphabet wasn't much of a passer, to which Alphabet responded by saying he might as well look at his own game tape, and Greek head coach Spanoulis said Shin Kyung was just not a good enough kid to judge Alphabet. Subsequently, these two finalists did not shake hands when the best lineup was officially announced at the European Championships.

The Turkish men's basketball official also posted a history-laden dynamic after the win over Greece, sparking an outcry from Greek fans. Alphabet said on air that the Turkish flag could not be in his broadcast, leading to further escalation and his wife saying she had received a threatening message.

Knowing that he could not continue to let the situation grow, Alphabet asked around for Shin Kyung's number and managed to get his contact information, and agreed with him over the phone that the dispute should be resolved publicly, the source said.

Eventually, Alphabet and Shinkyo posted the same dynamic on their respective social media accounts: basketball should unite, not divide.
