Following Shams Charania's report that LeBron James would not join the Lakers on their five-game road trip, Brett Siegel stated via social media that upon his return, James could only miss a maximum of three more games this season or risk being ineligible for All-NBA Team consideration.

Brett Siegel wrote: "Counting tonight's Lakers vs. Spurs game, LeBron has already missed the Lakers' first nine games this season. If he misses five more, he can only afford to miss three more games this season to remain eligible for NBA All-Star selection. His record of 21 consecutive All-Star selections is in jeopardy."
