For the first time in history! Four players in the NBA have 40+ for the first time this season.

Release time: 2025-10-23 PE Score

The first two game days of the new NBA season ended with a total of 14 games played and as many as four stars put on a 40+ scoring show to set a new league record.

On the first day, Doncic scored 43 points in 41 minutes in the Lakers' 109-119 loss to the Warriors. Today's scoring show was even more crazy, 76ers guard Maxey scored 40 points in 41 minutes to start the game, then Wembanyama scored 40 points and 15 rebounds in just 30 minutes, and finally Anthony Edwards helped the Gray Wolves turn around the Trail Blazers with 41 points.

Statistically, this is the first time in NBA history that as many as four players have scored 40+ points in a season opener, and with the Golden Nuggets and Slippery Horses yet to make their season debuts, that record could continue to grow.
