La Liga has gotten off to a rocky start this season, with Levante securing only 9 points in 14 rounds and currently sitting second-to-last in the standings. The club officially announced that the board of directors and sports management have reached an agreement: Julián Calero will no longer serve as head coach of the men's first team.
The club statement reflected on Calero's contributions: The Madrid-born coach took charge on June 8, 2024, with the objective of guiding the team back to the top flight. He motivated the squad and supporters with the message "Everything will be alright," ultimately securing promotion to La Liga on May 25, 2025, and lifting the Segunda División trophy just one week later.
Levante UD extends its deepest gratitude to Calero and his coaching staff, including fitness coach Roberto Oviedo and goalkeeping coach Borja Montero: "Thank you for your tireless dedication and for reigniting hope in the spirit of Levante. Julian, you have become part of the club's history, and this will always be your home."
The club also wishes them every success in their future careers.
