SGA: Despite winning last season, playoff performance not good enough

Recently, Thunder star SGA stated in an interview that he was dissatisfied with the process of winning last season's championship, as his playoff performance fell far short of his regular-season form.

SGA stated: "Honestly, I didn't like how we won the championship. I don't think we were playing at our best when we won it. Of course, it was our first time reaching that level in the playoffs, so it was definitely a valuable learning experience."

"But to maintain that level of play throughout the regular season and sustain it throughout the playoffs requires a higher level of focus, discipline, confidence, and competitiveness."

"Our regular season performance was definitely better than our playoff performance. Personally, my playoff performance wasn't as good as my regular season performance. That happens in playoff series because opponents constantly analyze you. But I feel like I could have done better."

"I feel I'm still far from where I need to be. Basketball is such a complex game with so many different aspects, especially since I'm the primary ball-handler initiating the offense. Then there's off-ball movement, various scoring methods, defense, transition play—so much to learn. The greatest players master every facet."

"I've heard coaches describe facing Rajon Rondo like going up against a coach on the court. He knows every play you run, anticipates your next move. So until I master all these skills—and that could take a long time—I can't get complacent. I still have a long way to go."
