According to ESPN, former Memphis Grizzlies defensive stalwart Tony Allen was arrested in Arkansas on Wednesday on suspicion of drug offenses.
The report stated that during a traffic stop, police discovered a bag of leafy substance on the 43-year-old, later identified as marijuana. A powdery substance found inside a cigarette box in his vehicle was subsequently confirmed to be cocaine.
Tony Allen played 14 seasons in the NBA, suiting up for the Celtics, Grizzlies, and Pelicans. He appeared in 820 regular-season games and 112 playoff games, helping the Celtics win the championship in 2008. He was named to the All-Defensive First Team three times. His No. 9 jersey was retired by the Grizzlies this past March.
