In the second season of the Netflix documentary First Five, James Harden and his girlfriend tell the story of how their relationship began.

Harden: I met her a couple of times, I saw her IG page, and I said to a female friend, "Give me her number."

Girlfriend: He called me five times at 8:00 a.m. I didn't even know he had my number or who gave it to him, and I didn't even know what was going on.

Harden: She didn't know who I was, she didn't know anything.

Girlfriend: And then he just FaceTimed me.

Harden: She's a weirdo too, she answered, paradoxically.

Girlfriend: He said, "You look good at 8 a.m. without a wig." I just asked him, "How did you get my number?"

Harden: We talked for an hour and a half, and that was the first time. I know how to flirt, I know what to say. ......

Girlfriend: James doesn't know how to flirt at all ......
