In their season opener today, the Blades suffered a 108-129 loss to the Jazz. After the game, head coach Tyronn Lue said he was responsible for the loss.

Tyronn Lue said, "I told the players before the game that we need to get our defense right, and we gave up 43 points in the first quarter, and it's hard to get out of a hole like that. We gave up 43 points in the first quarter and 35 points in the second quarter, and our defense was off. The offense was about the same, eight turnovers in one quarter, didn't look for openings, didn't seem to know what to do. I have to take responsibility for that, we weren't ready to play on the defensive end."

"I think we have to learn from today and be prepared for the game. The Jazz were well-prepared and played hard, and we weren't prepared for their speed, tempo and cuts, and they were able to execute their game tactics efficiently."
