Curry, Butler combine for 54 points as Warriors beat Lakers for opener

The Warriors defeated the Lakers 119-109 in the first game day of the new NBA season.

The Lakers came close before the end of the first half, but in the third quarter again into the "lake three collapse" mode, 25-35 net loss of 10 points in a single quarter. Warriors in the fourth quarter was once by the Lakers close to the score, but eventually extended to 10 points lead and maintained until the end.

Stephen Curry scored 23 points on 6-of-14 shooting (3-of-9 from three-point range) with four assists and three blocks, Jimmy Butler chipped in 31 points, five rebounds and four assists on 16-of-16 free throws, Kuminga turned in 17 points, nine rebounds and six assists, and Buddy Hield contributed 17 points off the bench.

For the Lakers, Luka Doncic exploded for 43 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists on 17 of 26 from the field, Austin Reaves scored 26 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists, and Deandre Ayton finished with 10 points.
