Shams said on his program that he expects 76ers star Paul George will not be able to make it to the regular season opener.

Shams said, "I've been talking to Paul George's team, and I'm told he won't play in the regular season opener against the Celtic, but after undergoing surgery this offseason, he's made significant progress in his recovery and should be back shortly after the regular season opener."

"Paul George hasn't been able to play at his true strength for a long time now due to multiple knee injuries and team situations that have prevented him from fully recovering before returning to the court. That's why he chose to return after he felt fully recovered."
