Enes Kanter: Westbrook is a scapegoat in Lakers, mentally compromised

Recently, former Thunder player Enes Kanter talked about why Westbrook couldn't find a home, saying it all started when he was scapegoated by the Lakers.

I think it all started with the Lakers," said Enes Kanter. I think it started with the Lakers. I look back at his career, and it went downhill after he went to the Lakers. I don't want to blame anybody, I don't want to blame LeBron, but it's really hard to play for the Lakers."

"If you play with a player like LeBron, it's all about him. If you have a losing season, you have to find a scapegoat. And that season, they made Russell the scapegoat."

"This was supposed to be his 18th season in the NBA, but unfortunately he can't find a team to play for right now. I do think that scapegoating has taken a toll on him mentally. Because people are going to call him some really nasty nicknames, and I don't even want to repeat them."

"I feel bad because he has kids too, and I've seen an interview with him where he said that his kids get teased by their classmates at school and humiliated because of the black names that they get called by fans. It's certainly not easy to play in the NBA, but he can still contribute in this league right now."
