Recently, Danny Green revealed on his show that even if Westbrook executes the player option to stay, the Golden Nuggets will only let him watch the water cooler at the end of the bench.

Danny Green said: "I thought he had some kind of guarantee or a clear understanding that a team was interested in him. As for the reason he didn't end up executing his player options, from what I've heard, the Golden Nuggets weren't going to give him any rotation time this season, and he's going to be playing below even some of the players he would have led the team in."

"It seems to me that Westbrook jumping out of the player's option when he hasn't even decided on a home yet is kind of like paying your way out of a dilemma. You could have taken the guaranteed contract and let the team trade you."
