According to Shams, Heat head coach Spoelstra will replace Warriors head coach Steve Kerr as the next head coach of the U.S. Men's Basketball team.

According to the report, sources said the U.S. men's basketball team is expected to hire Spoelstra as the next head coach, who previously helped the U.S. team win the gold medal at the 2024 Olympics as an assistant coach, and will lead the team to the 2027 World Cup and the 2028 Olympics.

This will be the fourth consecutive Olympic head coaching change for the U.S. men's basketball team. The first three were "K" in 2016, Gregg Popovich in 2020 and Steve Kerr in 2024.
