Release time: 2025-10-02 PE Score

The Cleveland Cavaliers scored five runs in the eighth inning to defeat the Detroit Tigers 6-1 in the MLB playoffs and keep their chances of advancing to the next round.

After losing the first game of the best-of-three wild card series, the Guardians were on the ropes. In the bottom of the 8th inning, Brayan Rocchio hit a 379-foot springer to lead off the inning, Steven Kwan and Daniel Schneemann doubled to extend the lead, and Bo Naylor added a three-run single to seal the win. The Tigers left 15 bases loaded and missed out on a chance to advance to the championship game with only one hit in the scoring circle. The series finale will be played at the home of the Guardians.
