However, in the eighth inning, Vesia gave up 3 runs in 0.1 innings and failed again in relief with Henriquez. In the ninth inning, big brother Kershaw made his first relief appearance since 2019, going 15 pitches an inning to stabilize the team heading into the extended game. In the 10th inning, Dreyer and Treinen solved the bases-loaded crisis consecutively, and took the lead in the 11th inning on Edman's key hit, and in the bottom of the 11th inning, Wrobleski only used 8 pitches and 2Ks to close out the game with one run to win over the Rattlesnake. Shohei Ohtani went 1 for 5 with 2 K's, tripled and came home to score in the first inning, while Betts and Edman both had three-hit games, and Pages had his 26th of the season in four innings. After the game, the Dodgers dropped the division title to M1, while the Rattlers missed a chance to tie the Mets' wild-card third place finish, and are still a game back.
