Previously Lonnie Walker had stated that numerous American players who are currently struggling to continue their NBA dreams to play in Europe are benefiting from Nunn's influence. Nunn responded by saying that he was just showing others another possibility.

Nunn said, "I'm just one of the pioneers of this generation of players, and the fact that a lot of guys have the talent to play in the NBA, we're proving to other American players that this path is also possible. There was Mike James and Shane Larkin who did it before me, and when NBA teams didn't believe in me, I still believed that I could continue to play."

Nunn entered the NBA Draft in 2018 but unfortunately fell short, signing with the Heat to kick off his NBA career and also playing for both the Lakers and Wizards.In 2023, Nunn said goodbye to the NBA to join European giants Panathinaikos, where he has played ever since.
