Recently, Robert Horry said on a podcast that the Lakers should trade Reeves in a sign-and-trade deal next year instead of giving him a long-term contract.

"If the Lakers were smart, they would have signed and traded Reeves," Horry said. "I say that because they now have two players who are almost identical, Luka and Reeves. Not in the sense that their skills are identical, but they play the same position and their tactical functions are almost identical."

"Don't get me wrong, I like Rivers and I recognize his ability, but the team doesn't need two identical players. The NBA is all about matching. Look at those great teams, they are all made up of different types of players. You won't see two Jokićs, two Antetokounmpo or two SGAs."
