According to US weekly magazine Variety, Spurs star Vin Banyama will be involved in the production of the new animation Alien Dunk, with the necessary motion capture already completed.
French media outlet TF1 has already committed to the animation project, but it is expected that several outlets worldwide will buy the rights to the animation, the report said. The animation will reportedly be helmed by the studio that produced Garfield and Cat and Mouse.
Variety revealed that the animated series will focus on basketball combined with comedy and sci-fi, with Vinbanyama's character and friends maintaining peace in the universe through basketball.
In an interview, Vinbanyama said, "It's an incredible experience to see myself animated, and this animation combines two things I love: basketball and space. I think one of the most exciting things about the project is that we can create a world for kids to enjoy and fill little fans all over the world with fun, imagination and inspiration."
