Recently, O'Neal revealed in an exclusive interview that he visits Kobe's mom every month to do what he can to comfort the mother who lost her husband and son.

O'Neal said: "I always visit Kobe's mom, once a month, to make sure she's okay. Before Kobe passed away, he used to visit my parents as well, and we had a great relationship with each other's families."

"His mom has been through a lot of heartbreak over the years, and sometimes all you need to do is make a phone call to check in. I can probably understand how she feels about losing her son, but I can't imagine what it must feel like to lose your son and husband back-to-back, and I'm sure she's going through a lot of pain."

"Apart from visiting her, I also send her flowers. I just try to make her happy because I know it's hard to get back to feeling happy after going through so much."

"I'll never see Kobe again, not in reality, not ever. I really should have called him more often."
