Recently, Maddie was asked on his show if any of the active players looked like himself in his prime, to which Maddie replied:

"The game today? I don't see anybody like me. It's hard for you to play like that in today's NBA game because I dominate the mid-range."

"If Tatum played more mid-range, I would say his style of play is the most like mine. But not in terms of smoothness of movement or moving like me, I was fast back in the day. If he's willing to play more mid-range, that's him."
